Two and a half years ago, Prodriv set out to recreate one of the most legendary Subarus of all time, the Impreza WRX STI 22b. Called the P25, it’s a modern tribute with only 25 examples being built. Now, one of these rare machines has surfaced at auction through Bonhams.

This particular P25 is the only one finished in Solar Silver and has just 190 miles (306 km) on the odometer. Though currently located in the UK, it is eligible for import into the US.
This P25 is number 10 of just 14 right-hand-drive examples ever built. It comes with all original documents and books, plus a roll cage that can be installed if the rear seats are removed. With a jaw-dropping ordering price of $560,000 when new, it’ll be interesting to see if this one pushes even higher. Bonhams estimates a final sale price between £475,000 (equal to $598,000 at current exchange rates) and £575,000 ($723,000).
A Modern Take on a Rally Icon
In creating the P25, Prodrive blueprinted Subaru’s EJ25 2.5-liter turbo flat-4 engine and then set about thoroughly upgrading it with new forged pistons, steel con rods, ported cylinder heads, variable cam timing, a Garrett turbocharger, and an upgraded intercooler and air intake.
The end result is roughly 440 hp at 6,000 rpm and 457 lb-ft (619 Nm) of torque at 3,000 rpm. Coupled with this epic engine is a six-speed X-Shift sequential transmission through an AP Racing twin-plate clutch, with all four wheels responsible for putting the power down.
Prodrive says the P25 needs less than 3 seconds to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) and promises exceptional handling thanks to the electronically adjustable center differential and limited slip differentials front and rear. It also sports huge 380 mm (14.9-inch) discs at the front with six-piston calipers, and 350 mm (13.7-inch) discs at the rear coupled with four-piston calipers.
Blending Classic Design with Modern Tech
Inside, the P25 strikes a balance between nostalgia and modern refinement. The cabin is wrapped in black Alcantara with carbon fiber accents replacing the original 22B’s plastic trim. A modern infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto has also been integrated, alongside a pair of Sparco SPX seats for that race-ready feel.
For those looking to own the ultimate reincarnation of Subaru’s rally heritage, Bonhams has your chance—assuming, of course, your bank account can handle it. Check out the listing here.
