• A Tesla store in Colorado was the target of an arsonist, following two previous attacks.
  • Several vehicles were vandalized and the store reportedly had “Nazi Cars” written on it.
  • The incident appears to be related to Elon Musk’s questionable salute and politics.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has become one of the most divisive people in America and some customers are worried about being the victim of a “hate crime.” There’s growing evidence of that anger as a Tesla store in Loveland, Colorado was hit by vandalism earlier today.

The Loveland Police Department said they were contacted around 7 am regarding an attempted arson at the dealership. This reportedly occurred shortly after midnight.

Besides the attempted arson, the department said the building and numerous vehicles were vandalized with graffiti. Some of which the department said was “offensive and hateful in nature.”

While police didn’t elaborate, CBS News Colorado originally reported the graffiti said “Nazi Cars” before an update removed that reference. Video from the station – which has since been made private – also showed several vehicles with an “X” spray painted on their windshield.

The attack appears to be a reference to Musk’s questionable salute during a celebration for President Trump last month. The outspoken executive has also expressed support for far-right groups such as Germany’s AfD.

Getting back to the Loveland incident, it was the third such attack in the past few weeks. Previous incidents were reported on January 29 and February 2, but authorities said these were of a “lesser magnitude.”

Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the person(s) responsible and said they’re working with the FBI as well as the ATF.
