- The 2025 C5 Aircross has been revealed in patent images, ahead of its debut later this year.
- The production model closely mirrors the concept but ditches flush-mounted door handles.
- Based on the STLA Medium platform, it will offer hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric options.
Citroen unveiled the C5 Aircross concept last fall and now we’re getting our first revealing look at the upcoming production model. As you can see in these patent photos, the road-going model follows in the footsteps of the concept but has a slightly toned down design.
This is clearly visible up front, where the model adopts a lightly revised bumper with a mid-mounted intake. Designers also tweaked the ribbed accents, while keeping the lower intake pretty faithful to the original.

While the profile reveals larger side mirrors, it’s surprising to see how many of the concept’s fanciful elements have been retained. In particular, there are protruding taillight ‘tips’ on the D-pillar as well as wing-like accents on the front doors. However, the flush-mounted door handles give way to more traditional components.
Aside from the eye-catching taillights, the rear end is pretty plain. However, we can see a revised bumper, a wraparound spoiler, and a new lower section for the reflectors.

The production model will ride on the STLA Medium platform and measure around 183.1 inches (4,650 mm) long. This will make the 2025 C5 Aircross roughly 5.9 inches (150 mm) longer than its predecessor.
Citroen has been tight-lipped on specifics, but has previously hinted the model will be offered with combustion, hybrid, and electric powertrains. This suggests options could be shared with the Opel Grandland as well as the Peugeot 3008 and 5008.
In the case of the 5008, customers can get a hybrid with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine or a plug-in hybrid with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. There are also two fully electric versions with a 73 or 97 kWh battery pack. The company is also gearing up to introduce a dual-motor all-wheel drive variant with a combined output of 321 hp (239 kW / 325 PS).
