- The Toyota HiAce carries on in Japan for 2025, which marks its 21st model year.
- The van is now available with optional upgrades from GR Parts, focused on styling.
- Modellista also offers a range of accessories, including aero bits and interior trim.
Toyota Gazoo Racing might be getting ready to expand its lineup with more sports cars, but not everything that wears the GR logo has to be tailored for handling and performance. The GR Parts division, known for dressing up lesser models with sporty bits, recently got its hands on the HiAce.
Despite having been around largely unchanged since its debut in 2004, the H200 generation of the HiAce is still available for the 2025 MY in Japan. The only notable change this year was the addition of a high-spec trim called Super GL Dark Prime S, although what really caught our eye was the optional styling upgrades from GR Parts.

According to Toyota, the GR Parts Version I of the HiAce is “inspired by off-road design” and aims to stand out “not only in outdoor scenes but also on the street”. As for the GR Parts Version II, it is described as “an even more exciting anticipation of motorsports” whatever that means.
The main difference between the two is the design of the front bumper add-on and the side skirts. The Version I has a rugged bolt-on bumper insert with integrated LEDs and a metal-style skid plate, joined by side skirts that look like side steps and GR-branded mudflaps in red or black.
On the other hand, the Version II adopts a sportier stance with a front splitter and more discreet side skirt extensions. Owners can also opt for a deeper rear bumper with a miniature diffuser, a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels, and a number plate frame with GR bolts.

The cost of the GR Parts upgrades is ¥231,000 ($1,500) for the Version I bodykit and ¥143,000 ($940) for the Version II. If you want the full treatment, you’ll need an extra ¥242,000 ($1,600) for the wheels and tires, ¥33,000 ($220) for the mudflaps, and ¥15,510 ($100) for the anti-theft GR number plate frame.

GR Parts sits at the very bottom of the Gazoo Racing food chain, below the track-hungry GRMN, performance-focused GR, and spicy GR Sport models. Despite getting a mild treatment, the HiAce is not mentioned in the official Gazoo Racing website in Japan. This shows that Toyota doesn’t really consider it part of the lineup, which includes another LCV-derived model – the rugged Hilux GR Sport.
Modellista Is Also Here For HiAce Owners
Besides the available accessories from the GR Parts catalogue, fans of sporty-looking HiAce vans can choose from a variety of Modellista upgrades.
The bodykits feature more pronounced aero components, and be combined with a decal set, metal trim pieces for the grille, new wheel designs, and beefier tailpipes. The cabin can also be upgraded with wood trim, LED lighting, leather seats, and useful accessories such as a portable air sleep mat or roof-mounted fishing rod holders.
Last but not least, Modellista offers chassis upgrades including tweaked shocks for a more comfortable ride and rear bracing for extra rigidity. Still, the van doesn’t get any performance upgrades on the carry-over gasoline and diesel powertrains.
