- This 1992 Camaro Z28 has only 1,324 miles, making it a rare find for enthusiasts.
- The turquoise paint looks superb, and the interior shows no signs of wear.
- Power continues to be provided by the original 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8.
This looks just like any regular 1992 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, right? However, there’s nothing regular about this example. Since leaving the Chevy factory more than 30 years ago, it has been driven just 1,324 miles (2,130 km), making this the perfect time capsule. While there are likely a few other low-mileage examples from the same era, this one is set to hit the auction block this May, making it an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

Mecum Auctions hasn’t provided any details that explain why the car has been driven so little other than stating it’s been under the possession of the current owner for the past 15 years. While it pains us to see a driver-focused model like the Camaro parked away and not used, it’s pretty cool to know that there are cars like this out there, just waiting to be shown to the world.
Condition: Immaculate, Inside and Out
The muscle car is dressed in a glistening shade of turquoise and while only a single picture of the outside has been released, it seems to be in superb condition. It looks to be free of any scratches or dents, and the five-spoke silver wheels look pristine. Obviously, it’s been garage queen throughout its life.

A look inside reveals the original plastic still covering the seats and floor mats. None of the fabric, leather, or plastic surfaces show any signs of wear. Under the hood lies the original 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8, producing 230 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels, this setup was capable of a 0-60 mph time of around 8.1 seconds.
Hopefully, the previous owner turned on the engine frequently, as simply leaving a car untouched for decades on end is not a good idea.

The auction house has shared some images of the Camaro’s underside and while most of it looks fantastic, there are some small areas with surface rust, but it doesn’t appear significant.
Thinking about placing a bid? You can check out the listing on Mecum Auctions over here before it goes under the hammer on May 14 at the Indy event. Who knows, maybe you’ll be the one to finally put some miles on it.
