- The QX65 will debut as a sportier, two-row alternative to the QX60 crossover.
- It’s expected to feature a sleek design with split headlights and a black grille.
- It will likely offer a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, delivering 268 hp and 286 lb-ft.
The Infiniti QX50 and its coupe-crossover sibling, the QX55, are both being phased out later this year. While it doesn’t appear that the QX50 will be directly replaced, Infiniti is already gearing up to introduce a new model to take the QX55’s place, and it’ll carry the name QX65.
This upcoming crossover will sport a coupe-like roofline, and after we caught a glimpse of it during a recent round of testing (camouflaged, of course), a set of renderings has now surfaced to give us a sneak peek of what it might look like.

The QX65 is expected to debut in late 2025 or early 2026 as a 2026 model for the North American market. It will serve as a sportier, two-row alternative to the QX60, which is also set for a refresh. The QX65 will likely share the same underpinnings as the QX60, with both being built at Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee plant. This is a key point, as the outgoing QX50 and QX55 are both assembled in Mexico, making them potential targets for tariffs if the Trump administration’s proposed policies are put into effect.
Design Choices

These renderings by artist Nikita Chuyko for Kolesa are based on the recent prototype sightings that we shared a few weeks ago. They show the QX65 with split headlights almost identical to those in the larger QX80. They consist of narrow LED daytime running lights at the base of the hood, while the main headlamps are positioned vertically, further down on the fascia. A large yet sleek black grille is also featured in these renderings, adding to the premium look of the new crossover coupe.

The sides of the QX65 will be dominated by swooping curves and creases, complemented by some very attractive triangular rear side windows. We’re also very fond of the rear depicted in these images, sporting a spoiler stretching out from the roof, intricate LED taillights, and a light bar. All in all, it looks great, and we’re crossing our fingers that the production model ends up looking this good.
Interior Expectations

While we haven’t seen the interior of the QX65 prototypes, we did get a look at one of the QX60 facelift testers that was riding alongside it. Given the similarities between the two models, it’s highly likely that the QX65 will share a similar (albeit slightly updated) interior. This would likely include a dual 12.3-inch setup: one for the digital instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system, upgraded to the latest version.
Turbocharged Powertrain
What else do we have to look forward to for the QX65? Well, like the updated 2026 QX60, it will likely be offered exclusively with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder pumping out 268 hp and 286 lb-ft (387 Nm) of torque, as Infiniti dropped the 295 hp 3.5-liter V6 engine from the range last year. The engine will be mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, driving either the front wheels or, as an option, all four wheels.
Infiniti’s Uphill Battle
Nissan’s luxury division is in a bit of a tight spot at the moment. Last year, Infiniti sold just 58,070 vehicles in the States, a 10.2% drop compared to the 64,699 it moved in 2023. The QX55, in particular, didn’t do any favors to the brand’s bottom line, with sales plummeting 31.3% to a mere 3,721 units. While these numbers are definitely not impressive, Infiniti still knows how to design an attractive vehicle. If the QX65 can deliver on its promise, it just might help turn things around for the brand and put a few more cars in driveways.
