• A man has been uploading videos on Instagram with reckless driving in exotic vehicles.
  • The individual pretends to be a customer, convincing dealers to allow him a test drive.
  • He then tries to intimidate salesmen, performing dangerous stunts on public roads.

Dealer test drives are a prime opportunity for potential buyers to get a feel for a vehicle before committing to a purchase. Unfortunately, not everyone posing as a customer is genuinely interested in buying. Some people, it turns out, are just in it for the social media fame.

One such individual is Ahmer Saeed, whose Instagram feed features videos of a person engaging in reckless driving during test drives. In these videos, the driver often puts salespeople in uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situations, all while showing little regard for the vehicles he is testing.

The driver, who keeps his face concealed in the videos, routinely takes high-performance vehicles from various Texas dealerships for a test drive. Posing as a legitimate customer, he engages in financial conversations before requesting the keys and heading out for a spin.

Pushing the Limits

This tactic has allowed him to get behind the wheel of high-performance, expensive vehicles from brands like Chevrolet, Dodge, Mercedes-AMG, Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. In every instance, a salesperson joins him for the ride, likely hoping for a simple, peaceful test drive. Instead, they’re subjected to a high-speed, adrenaline-pumping ordeal.

The driver can be seen performing burnouts, hard launches, drifting, and high-speed runs without caring for the vehicle, the passenger, or other road users. Most of these stunts are performed with one hand on the wheel, as he films the action with his smartphone in the other hand. If that weren’t bad enough, the videos often include racist and derogatory captions aimed at the salesmen, who are usually left shocked by the driver’s antics.

A Reckless Social Media Game

Speaking to CBS Texas, a local dealer revealed that Saeed once drove an Audi R8 for over two and a half hours, reaching speeds of up to 160 mph (258 km/h) on the highway, while the salesman feared for his life.

In some instances, dealer employees have asked Saeed to stop the car immediately, while others have tolerated his wild stunts. Fortunately, no accidents have been reported so far. However, the prolonged burnouts and aggressive revving may have caused damage to the vehicles, leaving dealerships or future owners to pay the price.

A Lack of Accountability

The news station reported speaking with at least a dozen dealerships featured in Saeed’s videos. Most of them brushed off the unacceptable behavior as just another case of a “bad customer.” Only two dealers have informed the police about the Instagrammer’s reckless driving, but none has filed an official report.

The situation has escalated to the point where the Texas Automobile Dealers Association issued an alert about Saeed last summer. Despite this, he continues to upload similar joyride videos to his Instagram, all while keeping the identity of the driver hidden.

When CBS Texas reached out to Saeed for comment, he did not respond. However, the report noted that he recently posted a video addressing the controversy. In it, he doesn’t explicitly admit to being the driver in question. Instead, he claims, “the cars are completely fine, they drive fine, so no provable damage has been done to the cars.

Hopefully, someone, whether it’s the police or a concerned dealership, will take this seriously before someone gets hurt.
