- Shoppers must take delivery of their new Lucid Air by March 31.
- New Lucid customers can also receive $500 off using a referral code.
- Leasing the electric sedan for just over $500/month is also possible.
If you’re one of the many Tesla owners who’s growing tired of Elon Musk’s latest antics, Lucid is clearly hoping to make your exit a little more appealing. Joining the ranks of other EV brands like Polestar, and fresh off a $2,000 conquest bonus aimed at enticing Tesla owners to jump ship, the EV manufacturer is now doubling down with a Tesla-only trade-in allowance, sweetening the deal even further.

Lucid’s conquest offer has been running for some time and isn’t just limited to those with a Tesla. Anyone who owns or lessees a model from brands like Acura, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volvo, and others, can receive a $2,000 discount when purchasing or leasing a new Lucid Air.
The Tesla-Only Twist
However, the new trade-in allowance valued at $2,000 is offered exclusively for Tesla models, but not for every Tesla model across the US. Lucid is only offering this discount to customers who will register their new EVs in Texas, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Georgia, California, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Illinois. Additionally, shoppers must take delivery of their new Lucid Air by March 31.

What’s The Catch?
While this does sound like a good deal, it’s worth noting that trade-in offers from dealers are below the market rate. After all, they want to be able to flip your old car for a profit. As such, there’s a good chance existing Tesla owners could be able to sell their old EV for more than what Lucid offers at trade-in. With this being said, trading in your old vehicle does remove the hassle of having to sell it, which can be a time-consuming and laborious process.
There are several other ways to save on a new Lucid Air. With an eligible referral code, shoppers can get a $500 discount, and some sales studios are also offering a $2,000 on-site bonus on existing inventory. Lucky shoppers may also be able to receive the Studio Select Discount valued at $3,000, although it’s only available for select inventory.
In short, Lucid is clearly trying to pull Tesla owners in with a variety of incentives, but if you’re really looking to maximize your savings, don’t forget that there are always trade-offs.
