April Fools’ Day is still a few weeks away, but we’re sure the New Hampshire State Police thought someone was pulling a prank on them. How else could you explain an incident involving a naked man named Weiner.
The bizarre situation unfolded last Sunday at around 3:15 PM after troopers received reports of a “man causing an interruption to traffic on Route 16 in Dover.” These callers told police there was a naked man running/walking on the highway.

Troopers were dispatched to the location and quickly found the naked man. He was taken into custody and identified as 35-year-old Shawn P. Weiner Sr. of Somersworth.
An investigation ensued and authorities determined that Weiner had been in a crash involving a stolen vehicle. He reportedly left the scene on foot and then decided to remove all his clothes, before crossing the highway.

It’s not clear why he decided to wear his birthday suit, but the high on Sunday was only 43° F (6.1° C) so that likely made for a chilly Weiner. Regardless, he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries he received in the crash.
Weiner is now facing a long list of charges including “indecent exposure and lewdness, reckless conduct, two counts of disorderly conduct, and littering.” On top of that, there are additional charges from the crash and the theft of the vehicle remains under investigation.
