• The Lexus LX700h Hideki Matsuyama Edition is limited to just 10 units in Japan.
  • It includes a golf bag replica celebrating Matsuyama’s 10th US Tour victory and style.

After debuting in North America last month, Lexus has unveiled a mildly updated version of the LX lineup in Japan, introducing the new LX700h self-charging hybrid. However, Japan also gets a special edition model, the Hideki Matsuyama Edition, and it’s limited to just 10 units.

The Lexus LX700h Hideki Matsuyama Edition is designed for golf enthusiasts. As suggested by its name, it was created to honor Japanese professional golfer Hideki Matsuyama and celebrate his 10th US Tour victory (hence the 10 units).

The special LX is painted in Manganese Luster, picked by Matsuyama himself to match his support vehicle. The model rides on a set of 22-inch black forged alloy wheels. Inside, the white semi-aniline leather upholstery is combined with yellow stitching and Black Ash wood inserts. The center console has a special edition plaque bearing the signature of Matsuyama.

Equipment includes a Mark Levinson audio system, rear seat entertainment with screens mounted on the seatbacks, and more. However, the highlight is a golf bag, which is a replica of the one used by Matsuyama during his 10th US Tour win.

The special edition mirrors the specs of the LX700h with the self-charging hybrid setup and the recent upgrades on the TNGA-F architecture. The twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine is joined by an electric motor/generator, making a combined 457 hp (341 kW / 463 PS) and 583 lb-ft (790 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Lexus LX700h Hideki Matsuyama Edition is priced at ¥17,000,000 ($114,900). While it’s more expensive than the standard LX700h which costs ¥15,900,000 ($107,500), it’s cheaper than the Executive flagship trim at ¥21,000,000 ($142,000).

The special edition will be available through a lottery system in Japan and applications will be accepted between March 6 and 20. The 10 units of the special golf-themed SUV will be delivered in May.

Hideki Matsuyama has been a professional golfer since 2013 and has collaborated with Lexus since 2014. His achievements include a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This year, the athlete broke the record for the most wins by an Asian player on the PGA Tour in North America. Below, you can watch a recent interview uploaded on YouTube by Toyota Times.
