- Nissan Australia has launched a slightly upgraded version of the old Patrol.
- The SUV gains more tech inside the cabin, mirroring the 2021 Armada.
- The new generation of the Patrol will arrive Down Under in mid-2026.
Last fall, Nissan rolled out the new generation of the Patrol, along with its US-market twin, the Armada. While this updated flagship SUV has already made its way to various global markets, Australian buyers will have to wait until mid-2026 to get their hands on it. In the meantime, Nissan Australia has introduced a refreshed version of the outgoing model, bringing updated tech and interior features to tide things over.
The current Y62 generation of the Patrol was first launched back in 2010 and has received two facelifts since then, one in 2014 and another in 2019. For 2025, Australians finally get access to a much-needed interior upgrade that closely mirrors what the US-spec Armada received in 2021.
Review: The 2025 Nissan Armada Is A Luxurious Body-On-Frame Battleship
The biggest update is the addition of a 12.3-inch infotainment display, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, as well as built-in navigation. This replaces the aftermarket-style 10.1-inch unit fitted to the previous model year. Also new is a 7-inch screen within the instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, and Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor with moving object detection.
These upgrades are now standard across the Patrol SUV range, including the off-road-ready Warrior trim developed by Premcar. The higher-spec TI-L trim gets a few extra features, including a 13-speaker Bose audio system, a center console cool box, and a high-definition intelligent rear-view mirror.

Inside, buyers can choose between black or chestnut color schemes, both featuring quilted leather upholstery and woodgrain accents. On the outside, the design remains largely the same, although Nissan has introduced a new Desert Red Metallic paint option. The Warrior trim also gains black side steps.
Still a V8 in a World Moving On
Under the hood lies a 5.6-liter V8 producing 400 hp (298 kW / 405 PS) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque mated to a seven-speed automatic and a 4WD system. The engine is a strong selling point of the ageing Patrol, as its main rival, Toyota’s Land Cruiser Series 300, has transitioned into six-cylinder powertrains. The same applies to the new generation of the Patrol that will arrive Down Under in 2026 exclusively with a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 generating 425 hp (317 kW / 431 PS).
The 2025 Nissan Patrol is available to order in Australia starting at AU$ 90,600 (US$ 57,600), which represents an increase of AU$1340 (US$ 850) compared to the 2024 MY.
