According to the window sticker, its original MSRP was $73,335, which includes a $1,900 discount for opting for the PowerBoost hybrid powertrain. But the dealer is offering it for just $57,490, a hefty $15,845 off the list price.

We’ve reached out to the dealership to ask why it’s offering the F-150 Lariat with such a generous discount. As the F-150 has long been the best-selling new vehicle in the United States, it’s not often that we see dealers promoting big offers as this. Surely it can’t be a matter of this F-150 being hard to sell, as it’s been well-specced and should appeal to a big pool of buyers.
One possibility is that the PowerBoost option isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, despite being one of the more impressive choices in the truck’s lineup. The 3.5-liter V6 self-charging hybrid pumps out an impressive 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft (773 Nm) of torque, which easily outpaces the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 that offers 400 hp and 410 lb-ft (556 Nm). And it does so with better fuel efficiency to boot.
