Some classics are left untouched, admired like museum pieces. Others get transformed into unapologetic modern machines. This one falls squarely into the latter category. Still, the continued growth of the restomod scene suggests there’s no shortage of people who want the best of both worlds: classic looks with modern performance. This particular 1970 Mustang Mach 1 is sure to draw strong reactions from both sides.
This bright green Ford is heading to auction this weekend as a custom rotisserie build that has seen virtually every single part of it upgraded. While some restomods are subtle, this one is anything but.

If you can somehow pull your attention away from the paint, you’ll notice plenty of changes have been made to the bodywork, like new rear quarter panels with bigger air intakes, a custom hood, a new silver grille, and an extended chin spoiler. It also has new skirts and side-exit exhausts.
The changes made to the cabin have perhaps gone a little too far. The green paint extends across both the passenger and driver sides of the dashboard, as well as the transmission tunnel. The remaining parts have then been trimmed in glossy grey leather and Alcantara. Aftermarket gauges have also been added, as has a double-din Pioneer stereo system.

Whatever you think of the styling choices, the performance upgrades made to the Mustang are significant. Under the hood sits a Coyote 5.0-liter V8 paired with a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission. Power is sent to a nine-inch rear end, and steering is upgraded with a rack and pinion setup.
The suspension also benefits from new upper and lower control arms, coilovers, and an aluminum driveshaft. A set of Wilwood brakes provides stopping power, while a stainless steel exhaust should give the V8 plenty of room to sing.
