Love how a modern midsize truck packages itself but keep wishing it had the boxy honesty of an ’80s off-roader? Flex has an answer in the Renoca Windansea. Three builds based on the previous-generation Toyota Tacoma are sitting in San Diego right now, with prices opening at $42,495.
The conversion kit landed in late 2023, built specifically for the US market. It swaps the third-gen Tacoma’s factory front end for a squared-off retro nose drawn from the 60-Series Land Cruiser, complete with round headlights, a boxy grille, and a vintage bumper. Buyers can pair it with various liveries and off-road accessories to set their truck apart.

The trio of modified pickups is based on the 2017 Tacoma Double Cab, though each wears a different trim. The first example uses an SR5 2WD donor with 87,094 miles (140,200 km) on the odometer and an asking price of $42,495. It’s finished in red with black, silver, and white decals, and the look is rounded out by black American Racing Outlaw II wheels, BF Goodrich K02 all-terrain tires, a folding bed cover, and chrome steel bumpers.
Flex
The second example is also an SR5 2WD but with fewer miles at 40,399 (65,000 km), which explains the slightly higher $44,495 price. This one wears silver paint with grayscale decals along the profile and rides on 17-inch Nomad Convoy Utility Gray wheels wrapped in Nitto Recon Grappler all-terrain tires.

The most impressive one is a TRD Sport 4WD built for overlanding enthusiasts. The rig shows 71,364 miles (114,900 km) and costs a whopping $61,995, though it comes loaded with extra off-road gear. The exterior is dressed in tan with brown, orange, and yellow decals, riding on black Method 308 beadlock wheels and all-terrain tires.
Flex
The front end trades the chrome bumper for a Built Right bull bar with an integrated LED bar and a winch. It also gets a King Shocks 2.5 lift kit, an ARB skid plate, Built Right rock sliders, a Warn steel rear bumper, and a Prinsu roof rack with a second LED bar. Practicality climbs further with an RCI 18 bed rack carrying a ROAM rooftop tent, reachable by a collapsible ladder. The utility cans and recovery boards mounted on the sides leave little doubt this Tacoma was built for adventure.

All three are motivated by the stock 3.5-liter V6, good for 278 hp (207 kW / 282 PS) and 265 lb-ft (359 Nm) of torque. A six-speed automatic sends power to either the rear or all four wheels.
Reverse restomod fans will find plenty to like here, but the asking prices are steep. A brand-new 2026 Toyota Tacoma starts at $32,445 for the bare-bones SR XtraCab and tops out at $64,650 for the flagship TRD Pro. Then again, the new one doesn’t look like an old Land Cruiser with a bed grafted to the back.
