Mercedes-Benz took to Twitter in order to give us a sneak peak at their Geneva-bound racer car, the Mercedes-AMG GT3. We can already tell this is a whole different level of ‘awesome’.
What this means is that we’re going to say goodbye to the SLS AMG GT3 racer, which was definitely not as aggressive looking as the Merc-AMG GT3 we see in these design sketches.
The car will obviously feature a wide body kit, loads of extra air vents and a massive rear wing – because a car like this needs all the downforce it can get. As far as technical details though, we don’t have anything yet, but since we’ll be seeing this car in Geneva next month, we’ll definitely either know more by then or as soon as they take the covers off the car.
Since 2010, the old SLS AMG GT3 has achieved 182 wins and 98 pole positions which is a tough act to follow as testing has yet to even begin for its replacement.
The new Mercedes-AMG GT3 will take to the track during the 2016 FIA GT3 Championship season.
