If you’re a fan of the GTBoard YouTube channel, you probably already know the outcome to this rolling start drag race. Actually, if you’re passionate about cars, you should already know who won.
The Bugatti Veyron is a legend. For a while (a rather long while) it was the fastest production car in the world. It’s still one of the fastest and most powerful cars money can buy, not to mention a very exclusive product. The Porsche 911 Turbo on the other hand, is a genuine people’s champ. It may not be a 1,000+HP monster like the Veyron, but it will still get you up as high as 315 km/h with 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) of 3.4 seconds.
The Bugatti is even quicker off the line, but these two cars use a rolling start from about 50km/h which means it’s all about mid-range punch when they both drop the proverbial hammer.
As soon as that happens, we actually get to see the 911 Turbo (driver cheated) hold the slight lead that it got for about 2 seconds before the Veyron started to reel it in steadily and then, well, you can imagine the rest.
This footage was actually shot back in 2013 and we already knew about it, but this is the first time we’ve seen it from inside the Bugatti.
Currently the Veyron isn’t as formidable as it once was thanks to hypercars such as the Koenigsegg Agera R, LaFerrari and McLaren P1.
