A Californian motorcyclist has posted footage from his helmet cam that shows him landing cleanly on his feet after being struck by a VW Golf that allegedly ran a red light.
The accident happened last Wednesday, likely in downtown San Francisco, with the unnamed man riding a 2011 Triumph Daytona 675. The video titled “The death of my D675 and birth of my Ninja skills” has since gone viral with some 2.2 million views on YouTube.
The rider, who goes under the YouTube handle ‘Legitimate Business Man’, wrote:
“This happened to me on 1/28/2015 as I left my parking garage to head home from work. I had just turned my helmet camera on (Contour ROAM) which is the starting point of this video. Cager clearly blows his red light and hits me in the intersection. My heavily customized 2011 Daytona 675 is destroyed in an instant but I manage to land on my feet. ATGAT saved me from severe injuries as I walked away with only bumps and bruises.”
In response to a few commentators claiming that the video was fake, the rider shared several photos from the accident scene and the aftermath.
“For the people doubting the authenticity of the video, check out the aftermath pictures I just uploaded to expose you for the trolls you are. Please keep in mind these are NSFL for anyone who loves motorcycles. The images at the following link show very up close, graphic motorcycle damage – you’ve been warned,” he wrote.
