The 620 HP Hamann Mirr6r is, for lack of a better term, a ‘better’ BMW M6 than the one that gets delivered to you straight from the factory.
We’re lucky that Google Translate speaks Polish, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to figure out everything Polish website Auto Kult had to say in their very extensive review of the Hamann Mirr6r.
The Mirr6r first showed up at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, where they announced that it was going to outperform the factory standard M6 by 60 HP and 80 Nm of torque. That’s a total of 620 HP and 760 Nm under the hood of this car, helping it get to 100km/h or 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
By the way, if you do speak Polish, you’ll enjoy how insightful the whole article is, especially since the author seems to have a lot of experience in this field of work. Sure, it’s 2,500 words long, but hey, what else is there to do on a Saturday?
It seems that the cars extra power is due exclusively to the ECU being reprogrammed but all the mods were done while keeping the car performing as efficiently as possible. As the author says, there are indeed lots of M6s with more than 620 HP (some over 1000 HP) but in his eyes, Hamann has done an amazing job at letting the car stay true to its nature – a fast, dynamic and effective (as far as putting its power down) GT.
And here’s a humble attempt at an actual quote “The Mirr6r has everything you need to be happy – it accelerates like a polished sports car, similar to the current Porsche 911 Turbo and Nissan GT-R, even though it’s slower in a straight line from a stand still.”
The review ends with some basic conclusions, stating that being a unique car, having high quality tuner parts and the fact that it can be serviced at your local BMW dealership all fall under the PROS category. As for CONS, its unique look might not be for everybody, its lowered suspension and larger wheels offer less comfort and usability, and there’s a hefty price to pay if you need to repair any cracks in the carbon fiber body work.
