With pre-season testing almost here, Sauber took the covers off their 2015 F1 car, revealing an all-new Brazilian-inspired blue and yellow color theme.
It was long thought that the new colors would reflect the image of their sponsor Banco Do Brasil, however by doing so, they made it harder to see the Chelsea FC badge.
The Sauber C34 will use Ferrari power while featuring a brand new driver line-up with Marcus Ericsson (formerly with Caterham) and newcomer Felipe Nasr. Ericsson had a tough first season last year, where he didn’t manage to score any points – so we’ll just have to see how he does in a more competitive car such as the Sauber.
Speaking of 2014, it was a tough year for Sauber as well, with 0 (zero) points in the constructors championship. During the 2013 season, they had 57 points, managing a respectable 7th place, whereas in 2012 they scored 126 points, ending up 6th overall.
Team principal Monisha Kaltenborn however is looking forward to putting the past behind them, stating “This is the past and we now focus on what comes next. We have learned our lessons and are confident for the new season.”
The Sauber C34-Ferrar will make its on-track debut during the first winter tests in Jerez (Spain).
