Launched in 2011, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is not what car reviewers (or any one else, for that matter) call a new car. But who could turn down a test drive with a V8-powered Italian GT that looks this good?
XCAR’s Alex Goy didn’t, and as a result we can take a detailed look at the most powerful model of the GranTurismo lineup, the MC Stradale. The Ferrari-built 4.7-liter V8 engine produces 454hp (460PS) and 384lb-ft (520Nm) of torque, allowing the car to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of just under 190 mph (306 km/h).
On top of that, the engine emits a fantastic noise (especially in Race mode), and it’s still a good-looking car. There’s just one problem with it: the six-speed robotized manual transmission, which changes gears slowly and not quite smoothly.
So why would anyone buy this car over a Ferrari after all? Scroll down to find out from the review.
