Putting an Acura dealership next to a Morton Salt plant seemed like an OK idea until Tuesday, when a mound of salt came out of the side of the building and down onto cars in Chicago.

According to CBS Chicago, the wall collapse happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday. A Chicago Fire Department spokesperson told the TV station too much salt behind the wall may have caused the incident. Between 6 and 8 customer vehicles were damaged, the fire department estimates.

No injuries were reported.

It’s also unclear what kind of damage may have been caused by lots of presumably iodized salt falling on cars, but I’m guessing it can’t be good if too much of that stuff falls in the panel gaps.

And for the record, Morton Salt’s slogan is, “When it rains it pours”.
