Red Bull boss Christian Horner admits that his team must do a lot better next season if they can hope to compete with Mercedes GP.
Saying that couldn’t have been easy, knowing that Red Bull Racing have dominated the F1 world until last season when Lewis Hamilton took home the gold for himself and for his team. Horner even stated that “The performance of the Mercedes power unit has been hugely impressive – they’ve done an amazing job to come up with such a refined and complete package“.
Horner also added that “Those guys [Mercedes] aren’t going to stand still either. It’s down to the teams to try and catch Mercedes now and we have a lot of work going on with Renault to try to reduce that gap“.
Most times last season, the gap between Red Bull Racing and Mercedes GP proved to be quite big, while other times their two drivers showed great competitiveness and skill in finishing on the podium. Daniel Ricciardo has been sensational for them last season and we’re pretty sure they hope he will continue to improve at the same level, as will new comer Dany Kvyat who’s raced very well for Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2014.
The two will team up in the new season, as four-time world champ Sebastian Vettel moved on to Ferrari. One thing is for certain, with teams such as Red Bull focusing more on Pre-Season testing, the 2015 F1 season will be a lot more competitive than the previous one.
