The Koenigsegg Agera R boasts a monster of a powerplant, with its twin-turbo, 5.0-liter V8 churning out 1,140hp and an astonishing 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. Few supercars can match it in a straight line, but Porsche probably makes one of them.

The 918 Spyder sure is considerably down on maximum power with an output of “just” 887hp, but it has its Swedish rival licked for torque with 1,275 Nm (940 lb-ft). Official figures suggest that it is 0.2 seconds faster to the 0-100 km (0-62 mph) sprint, with a 2.6 sec time compared to the Agera R’s 2.8, even though it’s heavier by 300 kg.

The last time these two met, they raced each other in a rolling start from 50-320 km/h (30-200 mph) and the Agera R simply demolished the Porsche. This time, though, they compete in a drag race. Will history be repeated? Scroll down to find out.
