A very dangerous crash occurred during the Unlim 500+ drag race event held earlier this year on the island of Crete’s Tympaki airport.
During a duel with an Audi TT, the driver of an Mk3 Ford Mustang lost control of the car which went sliding off the runway and stopped on a field.
Given that the car was doing approximately 200 km/h (124 mph) when the driver lost control, it is amazing that he emerged with no injuries from this accident. It surely helped that the car was fitted with a roll cage and the driver wore a racing suit and helmet and had the seat belts fastened.
The crash was captured by a GoPro camera fitted to the Audi TT, whose driver immediately stopped the car and ran to help the Mustang driver. Scroll down to watch the accident.
