Just the other day, Cadillac announced its new 2016 CTS-V and now, we have the first video of the super-saloon firing up its 640hp-supercharged V8.
Predictably, it has the same crackle / audio qualities as the new Corvette Z06, which offers a slightly more powerful version of the same LT4 unit (+10hp and +20 lb-ft, to be precise).
It was recorded by the Car&Driver magazine crew during the CTS-V reveal event in an enclosed space. While it’s only a few seconds long, the audio sampler gives us an idea of what to expect when the car makes its full video debut in the coming days or weeks.
Cadillac’s next super model will have its world debut at the Detroit motor show in mid-January
