The Gulf Oil racing livery combining blue and orange has remained deeply imprinted in the minds of racing enthusiasts who have witnessed the amazing Gulf-liveried Ford GT and Porsche 917 racecars in the 1960s and 1970s.

Businessman and philanthropist Miles Nadal appears to be a big fan of the Gulf Oil colors, as he has commissioned McLaren’s MSO Bespoke department to build him a P1 in the iconic paint scheme. The latest MSO Bespoke creation features a blue and orange motif that runs throughout the vehicle, inspired by the racing livery from a past McLaren F1 GTR competition car.

The blue and orange exterior theme extends from the special McLaren Heritage badge on the nose, all the way to the active rear wing. The dual color paint is complemented by orange calipers for the Akebono carbon ceramic brakes, as well as by a subtle orange pinstriping detail to the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser.

MSO Bespoke has also personalized the McLaren P1’s interior, which continues the blue and orange theme with bespoke controls and seat details.

No mechanical changes were made, with the P1’s hybrid powertrain producing 916PS (904hp) and 900Nm (663lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint of less than three seconds and a 350 km/h (217 mph) top speed. Figures well worthy of the Gulf Oil livery indeed.
