The new Mercedes C-Class not only looks like the much larger and more expensive S-Class, but with one of the punchier engines, it goes like one too.

In C400 4Matic guise, it can sprint to sixty in under five seconds and comes with the same style and many of the same gadgets as its bigger brother.

CNET’s Brian Cooley was impressed by the various pieces of tech his test car featured, although it was specced up from the standard C400. His only concern inside the car was that the black bezel around the infotainment screen makes it not look like it’s floating, as the manufacturer intended.

The engine is worth mentioning too. Cooley says the force-fed V6 is eager, punchy and relaxed when it needs to be. The gearbox is not on par with it, but he concludes that the box is not bad either.
