The Jaguar XE needs to have a broad swathe of talents if it wants to make a mark in the highly contested sector it competes in. It promises unrivaled efficiency, coupled with sharp design and a sharp drive, though nobody’s driven it yet to confirm the latter.
WhatCar? previewed the XE in the video below, and their preliminary information makes the baby Jag seem like a real contender indeed. It is more efficient than all its rivals in base diesel form, but it lags behind in terms of interior and boot space.
All of its qualities can be negated or enhanced by its driving experience. If it’s good, then the automotive reviews scene, particularly the British sphere, will start recommending it, saying how it’s a real alternative to the BMW 3-Series.
However, we have heard that before, and know that the XE needs to prove itself over time too, since it’s an all-new model.
