The “ultimate American muscle car” we were promised by designer Henrik Fisker and Ford tuner Galpin Auto Sports, the Galpin Fisker Rocket, made its world debut at the LA Auto Show today.
We’ll just come out and say it that this isn’t exactly what we had in mind when we first learned about the involvement of Henrik Fisker, a renowned car designer who made a name for himself with vehicles like the BMW Z07 Concept and its production iteration, the Z8, the Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage, and Fisker Karma
The styling of the 2015 Ford Mustang-based Rocket is a bit on the rough side with a new double vented hood that leads to a protruding hexagonal grille house on a redesigned front bumper, blistered fenders – the rear with air intakes, a reworked rear bumper and a new sculpted boot lid with the car’s name on it.
A unique paint job and a set of 21-inch ADv.1 wheels are also part of the package.
From the interior pictures we have in our hands now, it looks like the Mustang’s interior received a light makeover too, mainly in the material department.
For power, the Rocket relies on a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine delivering 725-horses. We’ll have more information on the Rocket later on.
