The all-new Skoda Fabia Estate, a supermini-based wagon, has just received its official pricing information for the UK, where it goes on sale in March 2015.
The starting price for a basic one is £12,460, but you can spec it up close to £18,000 if you want the most potent diesel and all the bells and whistles.
However, you don’t have to climb too high in the range to get good levels of kit. Even basic cars come with six aribags, DAB digital radio, stop-start and electric front windows. For (manual) air-con, you need to go up to SE trim, which also brings with it alloy wheels, an improved audio system, USB and SD card slots, as well as a leather-wrapped three-prong steering wheel.
The top trim for the Fabia Estate is Elegance, and it increases alloy wheel size to 16 inches, adds climate control, cruise control and keyless entry.
Engines available range from a (probably quite weedy) 1.0-liter 75 PS unit and go all the way up to either a 110 PS 1.2-liter TSI or 105 PS 1.4-liter TDI; the 90 PS 1.2-liter TSI is expected to be the top seller, though.
