Ford’s Asia Pacific arm has dropped one last video teaser announcing the premiere of the all-new Everest SUV on November 13.
The short clip may not show the car in full, but the Everest is not an unknown quantity, as Ford previewed the rugged SUV through a near-production concept, initially in Australia in August of 2013, followed by the Beijing Auto Show in April this year.
The mid-size, seven-seat off-road SUV is based off the latest generation Ranger pickup truck with a more passenger car look. If fitted with a similar engine range, it should at least approach the Ranger’s 3.5 ton towing capability.
In Australia, one of its main markets, the new Everest is believed to replace the softer, Falcon-based and locally made, Territory SUV.
The Everest will most likely be built alongside the Ranger truck at Ford’s Thailand plant. There are no plans to offer the SUV outside the Asia-Pacific region.
