Sondors have went from two wheels to three, and are looking to offer a practical and affordable electric car with an estimated price tag of just $10,000, but is it any good?
Well, as expected, it won’t blow your mind, but RoadShow believe that the startup might be on to something, after reviewing a prototype of the zero-emission three-wheeler.
On the outside, it doesn’t look half bad, especially from the front, where you cannot tell that it moves away from the four-wheel layout, and in the cabin everything is surprisingly well organized, even in a prototype that lacks a rearview mirror, seatbelts, and air conditioning.
Being a test car means that it’s not road-legal, so the reviewer was limited to 20mph (32km/h) while sitting in the driver’s seat, but even so, they were able to say that the steering feels “quite tight”, and the suspension is not “loose”, comparing the Sondors EV to a “go-kart experience”.
If they eventually manage to raise the money, then expect three versions of the three-wheeler to arrive, with 75, 150, and 200 miles (120, 240, 320 km) of range. The 0-60mph (96km/h) run is estimated to take 6.2 sec in the production model, which should tap out at 120mph (193km/h).
