The Adam city car from Opel and Vauxhall just got a little bit warmer thanks to the addition of a new S version, which stands for Sport and comes with a turbo engine.

Revealed in final production trim at the Paris Auto Show after the Adam S study in Geneva this past March, the new Opel has a 1.4-liter turbo’d EcoTec engine producing 148hp (150PS) and 220Nm (162 lb-ft) paired to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Adam S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 8.5 seconds and has a top speeds in excess of 200 km/h (124mph). Those figures won’t allow it to compete with any real hot hatches, but they do add some zest to an otherwise, sober German model.

Opel’s engineers tweaked the suspension and steering systems, while also adding a set of larger OPC brakes.

Visually, the S shows its sportier pedigree with a front lip spoiler, a rear wing, new side skirts, bigger 18-inch wheels wrapped in 225/35 rubber, and different colors for both the interior and exterior. You can also get a set of Recaro performance seats.
