Not many things have been left unsaid about Jaguar’s new entry-level sedan, the rather conservatively-designed XE – as a matter of fact, we already knew everything about it, minus pricing.

That piece of the puzzle has been added – at least for European markets, as the U.S. will have to wait a little bit longer.

At the car’s Paris Auto Show world premiere, Jaguar announced that the XE will be available in the UK from £26,995 (equal to $43,505) for the base SE model with the 200PS (197hp) 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine. The cheapest diesel-engined model is the 163PS (161hp) in SE trim, priced from £29,775, and the range-topping V6 S is £44,870.

It will reach UK showrooms in April 2015 and will be offered in five trim levels: Pure (SE in the UK), R-Sport, S, Prestige and Portfolio. The entry-level model features cloth seats and a gloss black treatment for the door trim finishers, as well as the signature “Riva Hoop” sweeping around the instrument panel.

The R-Sport trim brings Taurus leather seats with technical mesh fabric inserts, “Riva Hoop” and door finishers in etched aluminium, as well as R-Sport branding for the tread plates and sports steering wheel. The exterior receives a subtle rear spoiler and a chrome treatment for the side power vents, while a sports suspension improves handling.

The S is the most performance-oriented XE model, featuring a race-inspired interior and a more aggressive exterior with enlarged air intakes in the front bumper, side sill extensions, rear spoiler, gloss black rear valance, red brake calipers and optional forged, 20-inch “Propeller” alloy wheels.

Prestige models feature Taurus leather upholstery with contrasting stitching, phosphor blue ambient lighting, perforated inserts on the air-conditioned seat option and brushed aluminum trim.

Finally, the most luxurious XE model, the Portfolio, features premium Windsor leather with herringbone perforations, bicolor dashboard and embossed aluminum trim.
