Take a good look at Peugeot’s Exalt concept and try to picture it without that silly “shark skin” material covering its behinds; wouldn’t it make a great replacement for the 508?
While you think about it for 0.5 seconds, let us tell you that Peugeot is showing the European specification version of the Exalt in Paris, with some minor cosmetic differences from the original concept that was displayed at the Beijing Auto Show in April.
These include the re-skinned rear portion of the sports saloon with shades of grey on the outside, along with the replacement of the Ebony wood trimmings with recycled “newspaper wood” and the carbon fiber décor with basalt fiber, which is a natural composite, on the inside.
Peugeot also stowed an electric scooter under the boot floor.
Weighing in at 1,700kg (3,748 pounds) the Exalt draws its power from a plug-in HYbrid4 drive train that includes a 266hp 1.6-liter turbo petrol and an electric motor with a combined maximum power of 340PS (335hp) shared between the four wheels.
The French company has said that the Exalt could lead to a production car for China.
