The new Civic Type-R will be a big departure for Honda’s performance brand not only because it’s the first one to get a turbo, but also because of its more extreme nature.
It promises “unmatched performance compared to all previous Type R cars, including Civic, Integra, Accord and NSX” – even if you’re not all for the turbo, you can’t argue against that statement…
The manufacturer has jus put out a video in which it has the Civic Type-R project leader, Mr. Suehiro Hasshi, talks through some of the car’s standout features. For instance, it has an all important button that turns everything sharper called “+R” – it sounds like BMW’s M-mode.
Let’s just hope they don’t tone down the looks too much. The last camouflaged prototype we featured looked dangerously similar to the regular facelifted Civic hatch, it in turn styled after the Type-R Concept…
