Should we care about this bespoke Lexus NX which was designed with input from Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am?

Why should you bother to remember it has an “ultra-wide body kit with brushed aluminium and carbon vinyl details and matt pearl white paintwork,” since it’s just run-of-the-mill PR move to get people talking about the NX via an internationally known celebrity.

The vehicle does a great job of promoting itself just by looking as rakish as it does, anyway.

Granted, the wide body kit it gets looks really trick, but since it’s not a series part the NX is available with, and thus we probably won’t see it again, it’s not important either. Besides, it needs 22-inch rims to fill up the big arches, so it’s not something practical that could be considered for production.

It looks like a mediocre SEMA car, though that’s not all bad…

The turbocharged engine is untouched, as is pretty much the rest of the car, bar the steering wheel with a custom embroidered logo and the 180-degree external cameras system which allows “panoramic pictures and video to be captured and displayed on smartphones” – the coolest useless feature in the world.
