After eight years in the market, the Chevrolet Captiva is a bit long in the tooth these days, but GM continues to bet on facelifts to prolong its life.
The Captiva, introduced in 2006 and sold in Australia under the Holden brand, has already undergone two facelifts, one in late 2010 and the other, just last year.
It seems, however, that GM wants to keep the SUV in the market for another year or so before it pulls out the Chevrolet marque from the European market in 2016 and presents a common successor for the related Chevrolet Captiva and the Opel Antara – we spied a test mule of the SUV back in 2013.
The Captiva prototype we scooped testing in Europe had its front end hidden under camouflage, while the rest of the body did not have any changes. It may also receive some mild updates to the interior as a last hurrah.
