The Volvo 122 Amazon Coupe may not have looked anything too special back in its day, it was (and still is) saved by excellent proportions – it just looks ‘right’ from every angle.
This particular one is from 1968, and aside from its familiarly pleasing shape, it has a few visual and performance upgrades to mark it off as special.
First thing you notice are the wheels, which are Cragar replicas measuring 16 inches in diameter. They are a bit obvious, but the car sits well, especially with the lowered IPD suspension. The engine has also been built with parts from the same Volvo specialist (IPD), and has only run some 3,000 miles since it was put back together; the car’s odometer reads 57,700 miles in total.
The exterior looks pretty good and the engine bay looks really clean, but the dash does look a bit tired; the speakers in the doors are rather hideous too…
Check out the full details on the car’s Craigslist sale ad, where it’s advertised for $7,500, available for viewing in San Francisco, California.
