Inaugurated by the first generation BMW X6 in 2008, the segment of coupe SUVs will soon be joined by Mercedes’ GLE Coupe and later on by Audi’s Q6. But other automakers may also be tempted to take a shot at this highly profitable segment.
How about Volvo, which has recently unveiled the all-new XC90 SUV? Automotive Photoshop manipulator Teophilus Chin imagined what a BMW X6 rival from Volvo would look like and I have to admit the result is impressive. Dubbed XC80 by the artist, the vehicle is clearly more inspired by Volvo’s Concept XC Coupe than by the new XC90.
The most notable difference over the concept is the addition of rear doors, and the remarkable thing is the change doesn’t ruin the XC80’s sporty profile. Although I’m not a big fan of models like the BMW X6, I have to say that I wouldn’t mind at all a rival from Volvo that looked just like this. What do you think?
