GM has just announced upgrades for its Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe body-on-frame SUVs. The updates are designed to enhance “connectivity and convenience” and promise to add to the appeal of the pair.
Firstly, a new powered tailgate is available, along with the already featured fold-flat second- and third-row seats – these can be made powered at extra cost, as well. The “hands-free” tailgate is only available for buyers who also choose the keyless entry option – it works like similar systems already do, by wagging your foot underneath the rear bumper.
On the connectivity front, OnStar 4G LTE with built-in wi-fi hotspot capabilities is available, along with the newfangled wireless phone charging. It comes standard on LT and LTZ models and comes with a three-month free trial.
Sandor Piszar, director of Chevy marketing, explains the significance of these additions: “The 2015 Tahoe and Suburban have resonated with families who want maximum capability combined with comfort and efficiency. These new technologies make Chevrolet’s class-leading full-size SUVs even more attractive as the go-to vehicles for active lifestyles.”
