A Texas cop was purportedly recorded on audio letting a Ford Mustang street racer who was clocked going around 140mph (225km/h) off with a simple, friendly warning.

The driver of the 970hp-strong turbocharged Mustang was street racing with a bunch of other highly tuned performance cars in the early morning hours.

After being pulled over, they shut down the camera, but not the in-car audio recorder that captured the driver explaining what was going on with the Texas Streets meeting and the cop who allegedly stated:

“At least try to get them to cut it out for the night. I don’t want to ticket anyone. They’ve been doing it since about 1 o’clock in the morning and you know, from some point, I said f***k it, as long as you’re not hurting anybody, but now traffic is starting, so…”
