It seems that the launch of the all-new Infiniti Q50 has certainly helped the brand become more visible and appealing. The company is reporting record sales for the first six months of the (current) year, when it managed to shift 101,220 vehicles worldwide.

Prime markets remain the US, China, Canada and the Middle East, though growth was evenly spread out.

Johan de Nysschen, the president of the company, was on hand to put a bit of spin on the situation, explain it from his perspective.

Infiniti is making significant progress towards its growth plan,” said Nysschen. “We have achieved sales records globally as well as in many individual markets. We continue to transform the organization, strengthen our product portfolio and nurture the brand. This all results in accelerated growth versus the overall premium vehicle market.”

Interestingly, around half of all global sales were made up of Q50s, and the number and appeal will keep going up, as a planned long-wheelbase edition is going to be released in China by the end of the year, considerably boosting its appeal in the vast PRC market. The small BMW 1-Series- and Mercedes A-Class-rivaling Q30 is due next year and it could be a hit for the Japanese firm.
