Acura’s new attempt to master the mid-size luxury segment is the TLX, which goes on sale in the States this August with prices starting from $30,995 for the base 2.4-liter model before a $895 destination fee (*).

Replacing both the TSX and TL in the Japanese firm’s 2015MY lineup, the TLX will launch with front-wheel drive and a choice of two engines, a 206hp 2.4-liter 4-cylinder connected to an 8-speed automatic, and a 290hp 3.5-liter V6 paired to a 9-speed auto box. Later on, Acura will enhance the range with the all-wheel-drive 3.5-liter SH-AWD.

Excluding the $895 destination charge, the 2.4L model starts $30,995 climbing to $35,025 if you opt for the Technology Package, while the 3.5L FWD version has an MSRP of $35,220 in base trim, $39,250 with the Technology Package and $42,500 with the Advanced Package.

The 3.5-liter SH-AWD model that shares the same 290hp V6 and 9sp auto with the FWD 3.5L, will be available with the Technology Package for an MSRP of $41,450* and $44,700* for the Advance Package.

Acura said it is also running a program from July 7 that allows prospective TLX customers to reserve a car at special introduction prices, along with special lease and APR financing rates and a $500 allowance toward the purchase of genuine accessories.
