Much in the same way there are plenty of Americans who would not drive anything other than a European car, there are those Old Continentals who swear by the stars and stripes. Hardly surprisng, then, that over 9,300 orders flooded in for the first 500 that are set to reach Europe.
The Euro order books for the Stang opened up during the UEFA Champions League final. Ford allowed people to register online, and they did, and the first 500 spots got 500 names in the first 30 seconds of the match.
Those who ordered are spread out across 20 of Europe’s nations and they should keep an eye on their email for a sign from Ford, confirming their registration, along with an invitation to come spec up their Mustang at a local dealer.
They will be able to specify the 2.3-liter turbo engine, though the V6 and V8 will be available too – will be interesting to see just how many pick the four-pot, even out of this first batch of 500…
