Just to make sure you didn’t misread our title, that’s a “K” and not an “S” there… The 220PS (217hp) Evolution II is one of the more desirable and rare M3s of the E30 generation, the other ones being the 200PS (197hp) Evolution 1, the 2.5L 238PS (235hp) Evolution Sport or Evo 3 (especially this one-off) and the Johnny Cecotto editions.

The BMW M3 Evolution II had a more powerful engine than the regular model rated at 220PS (217hp) along with some other upgrades like the slightly bigger wheels, thinner rear and side windows, brake air-intakes instead of fog lights, bigger front spoiler, a lighter boot lid and a longer axle-ratio.

The Macau Blue-colored 1988 model we found on sale at Pistonheads is number 155 out of just 500 that were built and it has only 90,343km (56,113 miles ) on the odometer.

According to the seller, “the wheels are not the original type being changed for wider lighter BBS ones and also the Steering wheel has been changed for a later M Sport type”, otherwise the car is stock and has those lovely part leather, part fabric checkered seats.

The asking price in the UK is £34,995, which comes to around US$58,900.
