Promising an infusion of engineering know-how from Porsche, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin promises the upcoming exclusive presidential limo will be all-Russian engineered and built. Called “Project Cortege,” the goal is to create a bespoke luxury vehicle for ferrying high ranking state officials around.
Putin wants to get rid of the western Mercedes-Benz S-Class cars that they currently use for the most part. He’s allocated an estimated $150 to $400 million for the vehicle’s development en route to a 2016 unveiling.
We look forward to seeing what the eastern-flavored luxury decadence is like in a modern, well-funded package – it will be a reflection of everything good the country currently has to offer in the sector.
So far, mockups have been created, along with scale models, but it’s really too early to tell what the finished product will be like. The crests they are going to use to adorn the body and interior will be pretty big, though…
