Yet another upcoming racing game revealed its planned release date through a gameplay trailer: DRIVECLUB has been confirmed to hit the stores on October 7. The PlayStation 4 (PS4) exclusive title promises a free-roaming social network-style experience that puts a heavy emphasis on driving clubs (as the name suggests).
We’ll steer clear of making comments on the game’s quality based on the action seen in the trailer below, but it looks like one of those titles that places fun above physics in the hierarchy of priorities. Let’s hope we’re wrong, because we don’t need another Test Drive Unlimited/Need for Speed-style clone with tack-on social elements…
What the game actually promises are “beautifully designed cars in the world, all rendered in staggering detail, inside and out.” You’ll get to “race them in richly detailed real-world locations,” and not to forget the club element, you of course get to do it “alongside your teammates.”
