Ubisoft has released yet another gameplay trailer for their upcoming open world action game Watchdogs. It focuses on how players will seamlessly connect to each other’s game, sometimes unbeknownst to the person whose session they have infiltrated…

This mechanic promises to allow players a wide variety of things to do in the game, including the setting up of unpredictable car chases that can be made even more unique by the intervention of helicopters which are controlled by separate users via tablet.

Those playing the game via a mobile device will not get to see the actual game engine and will instead be presented with an overhead view that tracks the fleeing car, giving them control over various hackable items they can trigger at the right time.

The only piece of criticism I have to throw its way is that, during the action scenes that take place in and around buildings (on foot), all the cover objects, whether they are hackable/deployable or not just seem a bit too conveniently placed and seriously detract from the realism… I guess this has something to do with the way Ubisoft is run, because this same problem plagued all of their Assassin’s Creed games, along with other titles as well.

They say it’s “unscripted,” but it always kind of feels like it is.
