You have to have very limited automotive knowledge to arrive at the conclusion that buying a BMW X6M as a sports car is worthwhile. If it’s the image that your brain conjures up when you think sporty high-riding car, then you need to lose yourself on a deep introspective journey – who’s ever heard of a tall and sporty vehicle?

But still, BMW rubbing its palms together in preparation for the release of an all-new one very soon, and we’re already yawning. We’ve seen (and driven) the new X5, which is pretty good as a tall diesel estate, and we’ve had a good look at the new X4 which is a mini-X6, plus all of the spy photos that we have all point to a predictable F86.

To make matters worse, it even sounds diesel-like and dull, just like the soon to be replaced current model. Click play on the video posted below, and you’ll instantly recognize the V8 twin-turbo engine note that we’ve come to know in many top BMWs, and it still sounds as exciting as fastening a playing card to your bike spokes to give it an angry two-stroke vibe…
